Berry Smoothie

I should call this my brother-in-law’s patented smoothie because I tasted it for the first time when he made it. It’s simple, delicious and healthy, given that there is no added sugar in it. This is perfect on a hot summer’s day and an easy way to make use of berries since they don’t last very many days in the fridge. If you don’t have blackberries and blueberries, double the number of strawberries in the recipe.

Berry Smoothie

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

Strawberries – 8
Blackberries – 1/2 cup
Blueberries – 1/2 cup
Yoghurt – 2 tsp
Milk – 1.5 cups

Method:

  • Chop the strawberries and transfer to a blender along with the blackberries and blueberries
  • Blend for a few seconds before adding yoghurt and milk
  • Blend again till you get a fairly smooth mixture
  • Add more milk or less till you reach the desired consistency
  • Serve as is or with ice or chill in the refrigerator
